Troop 205 is going to Gettysburg and hiking 15 miles

and we want you to join us!

Scouts and Scouters of Troop 205 – we have planned a very exciting and memorable trip to Gettysburg, PA this Spring – you won’t want to miss this one! 

Leaving Friday, April 1, 2022 promptly at 6:00am, from the Great River Fire House.  Please arrive by 5:45am to pack the vehicles. Immediately upon arrival, please pack the vehicle you're riding in.
Returning

Very late afternoon or early evening on Sunday, April 3, 2022
Itinerary
Friday

Visit the:

  •       National Military Park Visitor’s Center.

  •       Battlefield Cemetery.

  •       See the Cyclorama and Gettysburg movie

  •       Take the 3-mile Downtown Gettysburg Historic walk.           

  •       Eat dinner at General Pickett’s Buffet Restaurant.

  •       Camp at Artillery Ridge Campground.
Saturday

  • Breakfast at the campground

  • Hike the 9-mile (6hrs.) Billy Yank Trail – lunch on the trail

  • Dinner at General Pickett’s Buffet Restaurant

  • Camp at Artillery Ridge Campground.
Sunday

  • Breakfast at the campground

  • Hike the 3-mile Johnny Reb Trail

  • Have lunch on the way home.

Cost $125 Scout and $135 Scouter/Parent, all-inclusive as outlined above.  You may want to bring some spending money for Gettysburg souvenirs and/or snacks.
Dress

100% conformance to the following dress policy is needed:

Class “A” Uniform for all day Friday and Saturday evening. 

Class “B” or Class "C" for all day Saturday on the hike and all day Sunday, including drive home.

Good hiking boots recommended
Packing
Day-Pack

Similar to school book pack containing the following:

1. 2 water filled bottles for the hike on Friday

2. Sack lunch & drink for Friday

3. Light jacket & poncho

4. Camera(optional) (we'll have photos on the website.
Duffle bag  For your personal care items, sleeping bag, air mattress or padding, extra pair of shoes, sweatshirt/heavier jacket.
Chair Camp or Sport chair or seat - fold-up model for evening campfires.
Cell Phones Troop policy – NO Scouts bring Cell Phones.
Sign Me Up!

Sign-up deadline is January 18, 2022, with signed permission slip and $50. deposit. 

 Balance payment is due in full by Tuesday, February 15, 2022 (no refunds after

 payments have been paid due to advanced reservations needed).
