State Park Campout

15, 2022

Harriman State Park, located in Rockland and Orange counties, is the
second-largest park in the New York State parks system, with 31
lakes and reservoirs, 200 miles of hiking trails, three beaches, two
public camping areas, a network of group camps, miles of streams and
scenic roads, and scores of wildlife species, vistas and vantage
points. Harriman State Park's major facilities include Lakes Welch,
Sebago, Tiorati and Silvermine.
A
Troop Hike through the beautiful Harriman State Park will be our
highlighted activity on Saturday, followed by free time to work on
rank advancement go fishing, or just relax! You don’t want to miss
Saturday’s dinner of Troop 205’s Famous Turkey and Fixin’s! |

Cost |
$35 per person
for the campsite
fees, driver reimbursement for gas and tolls (based on
at least 5 total occupants per vehicle), Friday evening
Cracker Barrel, and Saturday evening dinner and dessert.
All Scouts, Leaders, and Father’s
attending, please also bring AN ADDITIONAL $15. in
CASH to the May 10th Troop Meeting, for the
remaining meals

Dress |
Class “A” Uniform for travel on Friday, Class “C”
camping T-shirt with scout shorts or pants for Saturday morning hike. Class “A” Uniform
for traveling on Sunday. |

Packing |
Sleeping bag, warm clothes, warm
spring & lighter jacket, hat, gloves,
hiking boots that have been
worn in,
wool hiking boots with cotton
liner socks, extra pair of shoes,
mess kit and rain gear. Backpacks are suggested
as there is a bit of a hike from the vehicles to the
camp site.
Camp chair is highly
recommended, as is sun block, bug repellant and a day pack for
the hike
to hold water, jacket,
rain gear, and lunch.
Bring Scout Handbooks as we will be working on rank
advancements. |
